Tottenham Richarlison transfer saga

Overview

In early July 2026, Tottenham were linked with a Turkish club’s €28 million bid for Richarlison. By late July the North London side were prepared to accept €20‑25 million to avoid losing him on a free, with Juventus also monitoring him, and Richarlison reportedly rejecting Saudi offers. Tottenham also pursued Coritiba winger Lucas Ronier as a long‑term attacking option.

On 23 July reports said Tottenham were actively negotiating the reduced fee for Richarlison and were ready to meet Coritiba’s price for Ronier, despite the Brazilian club’s reluctance to sell.

In early August, Richarlison scored a stoppage‑time winner in a pre‑season friendly against Chelsea in Sydney. Manager Roberto De Zerbi said the striker’s future remains uncertain, noting that Richarlison “sometimes says he wants to stay, sometimes he wants to leave” and that the club must respect his wishes. The player is in the final year of his contract, and Tottenham continue to target other forwards as part of their rebuild.
