Rick Tyler predicts difficult midterm outlook for Republicans
Rick Tyler, a former spokesperson for Senator Ted Cruz’s 2016 presidential campaign, has issued a grim forecast for the Republican Party ahead of the November midterm elections, warning of a ‘bad night.’
Tyler specifically highlighted the competitive Texas Senate race between Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton and Democratic State Representative James Talarico. A Marist poll indicates a tight contest, with Talarico leading Paxton 47 percent to 45 percent. The poll also noted Paxton’s unfavorability rating stands at 56 percent.
Paxton’s campaign faces several controversies, including reports of him celebrating in Dubai with individuals facing federal criminal charges, allegations of voter fraud, and a divorce filing from his wife citing adultery. Tyler suggested that Paxton’s high unfavorability rating puts Talarico in a strong position to win.
