Ridge Hospital accused of negligence following woman's death during childbirth

Daniel Ofori Asante has accused the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, also known as Ridge Hospital, of medical negligence following the death of his wife, Theresa Boakye Dua. The incident occurred after Ms. Dua underwent a scheduled, elective Caesarean section on July 16, 2026.

Mr. Asante described the experience as a “horrific ordeal” and alleged that reckless decisions made by medical personnel contributed to her passing. He stated that the loss has deeply impacted their families, including their newborn son and Ms. Dua’s parents. Ms. Dua was an employee at the Ministry of Health.

Ahead of her burial on Friday, August 28, 2026, Mr. Asante vowed to continue seeking answers and promised to disclose further details regarding the alleged unprofessionalism and negligence once the funeral proceedings are concluded.
