Riga entrepreneur prosecuted for 250,000 euro tax evasion

A construction and timber processing entrepreneur is facing legal proceedings in the Riga City Court for allegedly evading taxes. The individual is accused of accumulating a debt of 250,000 euros owed to the state.

The scheme reportedly involved two companies where money entered the accounts and declarations were submitted to the State Revenue Service on time, yet the state budget ultimately received no funds. This method is described as being externally legal but internally empty, operating for several years through the intentional disregard of social and tax obligations.
