Rijeka to conduct three-day mosquito control program

The city of Rijeka will conduct a three-day mosquito control program from September 6 to September 8. The adulticide treatment will utilize the cold fogging method, where mosquito-killing agents are dispersed in very fine droplets in areas where insects congregate.

Treatments are scheduled to take place during late evening hours, specifically after 10:00 PM. The operation will cover various local committees, including Centar-Sušak, Školjić, Gornja Vežica, Krimeja, Podvežica, Drenova, Brajda-Dolac, Kozala, Belveder, Banderovo, Potok, Škurinje, Draga, Turnić, Mlaka, Kantrida, Zamet, and Pehlin.

Authorities advise residents to keep windows and doors closed and to avoid staying in the immediate vicinity of fogging sites during the procedure. Beekeepers are urged to keep their bees inside hives, and pedestrians and drivers are requested to exercise extra caution. If weather conditions are unfavorable, the treatment will be postponed to the next available suitable day.
