Rijkswaterstaat plans A58 closures, reopens Aduard bridge in NL

Rijkswaterstaat will close the A58 motorway between the Roosendaal De Stok junction and Etten‑Leur in the direction toward Breda from 4 July to 12 July. The opposite carriageway will be closed from 8 August to 16 August, while selected entry and exit ramps remain open to maintain access to Breda and Etten‑Leur. The works are part of a larger project spanning 2025‑2026 and include keeping the A58‑A16 connection open in July but closed in August.

The bridge over the Van Starkenborghkanaal at Aduard was reopened on Saturday at 21:30 after a week‑long repair programme that replaced deteriorated steel cables and renewed the concrete support structure. The work, prompted by similar inspections at nearby bridges in Dorkwerd and Zuidhorn, also addressed wind‑induced stability issues.

Both projects aim to improve safety and traffic flow on key transport routes in the Netherlands.
