Infrastructure and transport updates in the Netherlands and Belgium

Various infrastructure and transport updates are being reported across the Netherlands and Belgium. In the Netherlands, Rijkswaterstaat retracted an announcement regarding weight restrictions for heavy trucks on the A6 near Ketelbrug after technical experts confirmed the viaduct's capacity is sufficient. Additionally, the Dutch government has ended exploration into Electric Road Systems (ERS) for electric trucks, reallocating 115 million euros to other sustainability measures due to unfavorable cost-benefit analyses.

Railway and road maintenance projects are also underway. ProRail is conducting track renewals near Station Uitgeest, while the Programma Hoogfrequent Spoorvervoer (PHS) faces delays in the Vught area, pushing the completion of the Goederenroutering Zuid-Nederland to 2030. In Belgium, the Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer is preparing to install a 4,000-ton arch bridge on the E40 between Brussels and Liège, requiring a full highway closure. Other regional projects include roadwork in Zwolle, asphalt replacement in various Dutch municipalities, and the resumption of roundabout construction in Heist-op-den-Berg following legal proceedings.

Safety measures are also being addressed, such as adjustments to signal timing on the Haringvlietbrug to prevent collisions with barrier arms.
