Rimini announces strategic investments in university, airport, and fair district

Rimini Mayor Jamil Sadegholvaad has announced a strategic investment plan focused on three key infrastructures: the local university, the Fellini Airport, and the exhibition district.

The municipality has reached an agreement with Fondazione Carim to purchase the historic via Angherà building for over 7 million euros. This site houses the University of Bologna's Rimini campus. The acquisition aims to secure the campus's presence, eliminate rental costs, and allow for the expansion of new courses and services. The mayor noted that the university provides an economic return of 179 million euros across the Romagna region.

To bolster international tourism, the city will double its contribution for promoting international flight routes from 1 million to 2 million euros annually, starting in 2027. This follows the announcement of a new Berlin-Rimini route operated by EasyJet, scheduled to debut in 2027. Additionally, the city plans to consolidate the local exhibition district to support economic and social modernization.
