Rimini beach robbery: 22‑year‑old Egyptian arrested after assaulting tourist

On 6 July 2026, Carabinieri in Rimini, Italy, responded to a report of a violent robbery on the city’s seafront. A tourist was approached by a young man who forcibly ripped a gold necklace from the victim’s neck; accomplices brandished a knife and threatened to strike the tourist’s face to ensure their escape.

Using eyewitness statements and footage from local surveillance cameras, police quickly identified a 22‑year‑old suspect of Egyptian origin. He was located near beach 107, where a search found him in possession of the stolen necklace, the knife used to threaten the victim, and about 30 grams of hashish.
