Rimini: Driver and cousin both charged after alcohol tests

A 60-year-old man driving a truck was found to be driving under the influence during a police check on the SS16 Adriatica near Rimini. After testing positive for alcohol at twice the legal limit, his license was revoked.

In an unusual turn of events, the man called his 53-year-old cousin to collect the vehicle. However, when the cousin arrived in her own car, police conducted a breathalyzer test on her as well. The test revealed that her blood alcohol level was slightly higher than that of the original driver. Both individuals were reported to the judicial authorities for driving under the influence. A third, sober relative eventually had to be called to recover both vehicles.
