Rimini expands infrastructure and aviation capacity

Rimini is undergoing significant infrastructure and aviation developments. The Emilia-Romagna Region, the Province and Municipality of Rimini, and the Romagna Chamber of Commerce have signed a letter of intent to transform Rimini Congressi into a new public company named Sviluppo Infrastrutture. This entity will manage strategic infrastructure, including fairs, mobility, and intermodal transport such as ports and airports.

In a separate development, Ryanair has announced a $200 million investment to open a new base at Rimini Airport starting in Summer 2027. The expansion will include two aircraft and is expected to create over 500 local jobs for pilots and cabin crew. The airline plans to double its capacity at the airport, offering 114 weekly flights across 17 routes, including five new European destinations.
