Rimini faces urban decline in Barafonda district

The Barafonda district in Rimini is facing significant urban challenges, including a decline in tourism and the closure of numerous hotels. Approximately 40 hotels are in the area, with about 20 having been closed for years, some of which have become shelters for the homeless. Local residents in the San Giuliano mare neighborhood have reported feelings of isolation and have called for improved infrastructure, such as an alternative road to via Zavagli and the redevelopment of the Marecchia cycle path.
