Rimini sees 25% rise in central restaurants while bars drop 18% over decade
A study by FiPe‑Confcommercio and the Centro Studi Tagliacarne comparing 2015 and 2025 data shows a marked shift in Rimini’s hospitality landscape. Restaurants in the historic centre increased from 114 to 143 venues, a 25.3 % rise, while the total number of establishments with table service rose modestly from 342 to 360 (+5.2 %). Take‑away outlets grew from 170 to 186 (+9.3 %) with a 24.3 % jump in the centre. Conversely, bars fell from 448 to 368 locations (‑17.9 %), a decline of 13.9 % in the centre and 20.2 % in surrounding districts. Gelaterias and pastry shops also dropped from 61 to 51 (‑16.8 %). The trend reflects a move away from quick coffee stops toward full‑service dining experiences that are now seen as a key component of Rimini’s tourism offering. “In aumento i ristoranti in centro e sul mare, ma sono anche le persone a cambiare, non solo le imprese,” said Fipe provincial president Denis Preite.
