Rincón de la Victoria beach cleanup engages volunteers to remove marine litter
On Sunday, 7 June, the municipality of Rincón de la Victoria will join the National Day of Marine and Beach Clean‑up, organized by Eco&Dive under the state‑wide LIBERA 1m² campaign. Around 50 volunteers, including divers, will start at 10:30 a.m. on La Cala del Moral beach to collect and scientifically classify waste from the sand and seabed. Each kilogram of litter removed will be exchanged for a kilogram of perishable food donated to the Spanish Federation of Food Banks, helping people in vulnerable situations. The data gathered will be added to a national database to study coastal pollution sources and support marine‑environment policies.
The initiative also includes on‑site environmental‑education activities and aims to surpass the 240 kg of debris collected in the previous year, reinforcing the town’s commitment to both ecological protection and social solidarity.
