Rio Court to Probe Ex-Governor Castro's Charter Jet and Helicopter Use

The Tribunal de Contas do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (TCE‑RJ) has opened an investigation into the use of chartered airplanes and official helicopters by former Rio de Janeiro governor Claudio Castro. The probe follows a request from councilor José Gomes Graciosa to examine whether the trips complied with existing legislation. Castro has asserted that all flights undertaken during his administration adhered to the law.

The inquiry will assess the procurement and operational procedures for the aircraft, aiming to determine if public resources were misused.
