Rio das Ostras hosts second Gastronomic Festival attracting 15+ restaurants and concerts

The second edition of the Festival Gastronômico de Rio das Ostras runs from 30 July to 2 August at the Lagoa do Iriry. Admission is free and more than fifteen local restaurants present exclusive dishes, including a Chimichanga El Dorado, Croquete Pulled Pork, sanduba de pastrami, and seafood paella. The event coincides with the Sesc Inverno Winter Festival, featuring free nightly concerts; Léo Jaime performs on 1 August and Paula Fernandes closes the lineup on 2 August. Organisers expect a surge in visitors, boosting hotels, bars and other tourism‑related businesses. Allan Barros, president of the Núcleo Gourmet, said, “O Festival é uma oportunidade de mostrar a força da gastronomia de Rio das Ostras. Queremos valorizar nossos empreendedores, incentivar o turismo e consolidar o evento como uma referência no Estado do Rio de Janeiro.” Producer Paulo Moreira added, “A missão é incluir o Festival no rol dos grandes eventos do Rio e trazer notoriedade para Rio das Ostras por meio da gastronomia também.”
