Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul implement new administrative and social policies
The State Secretariat for Economic Development (SEDES) in Rio de Janeiro has published a new internal regulation to reorganize its management structure. The new framework, established via Resolution SEDES nº 217, aims to enhance public management through strategic direction and results-based governance. The reorganization covers sectors including industry, commerce, services, innovation, energy, and the maritime economy, while also overseeing ten linked entities. Key roles include an Executive Subsecretariat for strategic planning and budget, and three sectoral subsecretariats focused on investment attraction, innovation ecosystems, and energy transitions.
In Rio Grande do Sul, the state government has issued a new normative instruction to strengthen the protection of children and adolescents who are victims or witnesses of violence. Managed jointly by the Secretariats of Health and Public Security, the measure regulates the Reference Centers for Child and Youth Care (CRAIs). The initiative establishes unified service guidelines, increases state funding, and creates a framework for expanding the specialized service network across the state to ensure faster and more integrated responses to violence.
