Rio de Janeiro government announces monthly stipends for technical students

The Rio de Janeiro State Secretariat of Education has regulated a monthly permanence scholarship of R$ 400 for students enrolled in technical courses at Senai, Senac, and Faetec. In addition to the monthly aid, the decree includes a R$ 1,000 prize for students who successfully complete their training.

The initiative is linked to the State Debt Full Payment Program (Propag) and integrates Federal Decree No. 12,433/2025, which establishes the 'Juros por Educação' program. This measure aims to expand professional vocational training within the state school system, aligning with the National Education Plan.

Eligibility extends to current state school students and those who have already completed high school but have secured spots in partner institutions. Registration deadlines have been extended: Faetec applications are open until October 30, while Senai and Senac applications are accepted until November 13. Classes are held during the opposite shift of regular schooling to allow students to balance both programs.
