Rio de Janeiro educational scholarship programs

Overview

The Rio de Janeiro state government has introduced multiple scholarship initiatives targeting different sectors of the workforce and student population.

In early October, the State Health Department (SES-RJ) announced 499 full scholarships for health network workers. These opportunities cover technical training, undergraduate degrees, and postgraduate studies through 15 partner institutions. The program is available to permanent, commissioned, and temporary staff across 12 state health units.

Later in October, the State Secretariat of Education regulated a monthly permanence scholarship of R$ 400 for students enrolled in technical courses at Senai, Senac, and Faetec. This initiative, linked to the State Debt Full Payment Program (Propag), also includes a R$ 1,000 prize for students who complete their training. The program aims to expand vocational training and is accessible to current state school students and recent high school graduates.
