Rio de Janeiro hosts inaugural Favela Cria Festival

The first edition of the Favela Cria Festival is scheduled to take place from October 30 to November 2, 2026, at Praça Marechal Âncora in downtown Rio de Janeiro. The event aims to showcase culture from peripheral communities through a diverse program including music, contemporary arts, graffiti, literature, fashion, gastronomy, poetry, and entrepreneurship.

Organizers expect approximately 15,000 attendees per day. The musical lineup features artists such as NandaTsunami, MC Hariel, ADL, Tasha & Tracie, and Duquesa. Beyond performances, the festival will host a fashion fair with 25 exhibitors, a gastronomic fair with 20 participants, and a literary fair with 20 participants. Additionally, the event will include contemporary art and graffiti exhibitions featuring local artists selected through a curation process.
