Rio de Janeiro hosts solo exhibitions by Benjamin Rothstein and Luiz D’Orey
The Galeria de Arte IBEU is presenting “O Atelier é a casa das dúvidas”, a solo show by visual artist Benjamin Rothstein. Running from 19 June to 21 August, the exhibition showcases paintings that explore the artist’s creative process, with curatorship by Bruno Miguel and live studio sessions where Rothstein produces new work on site.
At the Galeria Mercedes Viegas, Luiz D’Orey’s solo exhibition “Mercado de Previsão” opened on 25 June 2026 and will remain on view until 1 August 2026. The show combines paintings, drawings and a video that investigate the fabricated identities propagated on Instagram, framed by the artist as “engagement carpets”. Critical commentary is provided by Gabriela Davies, and the gallery offers weekday and weekend visiting hours.
Both exhibitions highlight contemporary Rio de Janeiro’s visual‑arts scene, each offering distinct thematic explorations of memory, perception and digital culture.
