Rio de Janeiro opens Conexão BRT line 54 between Centro Olímpico and Anil

Rio de Janeiro's municipal government inaugurated Conexão BRT line 54 on Saturday, July 25, creating a direct bus‑rapid‑transit connection from the Centro Olímpico to the Anil neighborhood. The service runs daily from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. with eight‑minute intervals on weekdays and uses a fleet of 25 brand‑new zero‑kilometer buses equipped with onboard fare gates.

Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere, Transport Secretary Jorge Arraes and MOBI‑Rio director‑president Claudia Secin attended the launch. The line links the neighborhoods of Freguesia, Curicica and Taquara directly to the BRT network without requiring a transfer, and also bridges both sides of the Yellow Line, ending at Anil. Payment can be made via the Jaé system, Pix or Riocard for holders of the Intermunicipal Single Ticket.
