Rio de Janeiro municipalities launch vaccination campaigns

Municipal health authorities in Rio de Janeiro state are conducting targeted vaccination drives to increase immunization rates. In Rio de Janeiro city, the Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS) organized a vaccination station at the Acari/Fazenda Botafogo Metro station. This initiative provides free influenza and meningococcal ACWY vaccines to the public, aiming to reach high-traffic areas and protect vulnerable groups, including children, pregnant women, and the elderly.

In Belford Roxo, health officials held a mobilization event at Heliópolis Square. The action focused on intensifying meningococcal ACWY immunization for young people aged 15 to 24, while also offering vaccines for COVID-19, dengue, HPV, and yellow fever. The campaign in Belford Roxo is part of a broader effort that continues through October 31 at local Family Health Units.
