Rio de Janeiro Police Sergeant Robson Pacheco killed in shooting

Sergeant Robson Pacheco of the Rio de Janeiro Military Police was shot and killed on Saturday morning in the Vaz Lobo neighborhood, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Security camera footage captured the execution, showing two men exiting a black vehicle and firing multiple shots at Pacheco as he walked along the sidewalk on Rua Marambaia.

At the time of the attack, Pacheco, who was assigned to the 41st BPM in Irajá, was off duty. Witnesses reported that he had gone to a local event space to check preparations for his birthday celebration, which was scheduled for that same day.

The Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC) is leading the investigation into the murder. While the area was isolated for forensic analysis, no arrests have been reported as of the latest updates. Pacheco is noted as the 29th military police officer killed in the state this year.
