Rio de Janeiro stages Decco Torres’ NeoBaile and Wander Pires samba night

Brazilian singer Decco Torres performed his new show “NeoBaile” at the Dolores Club in Rio’s Lapa district on 26 June. The concert highlighted Black Brazilian music, featuring classic tracks such as Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You” and Tim Maia’s “Lábios de Mel,” alongside songs from his latest album “NEO.” The band included bassist Ney Conceição, drummer Elberton Paixão, keyboardist João Vitor, trombonist Leo Ramiro and trumpeter Filipe Moura. Tickets ranged from R$ 20 to R$ 40.

The following night, 27 June, the Casarão do Firmino hosted a “Roda de Samba” led by renowned sambista Wander Pires. The event opened with vocalist Thiago Cordeiro, “the King of Repertoire,” and included a set by DJ Nicolle Neumann. Admission was on a collaborative‑pay‑what‑you‑can basis, with free draft beer from 18:00 to 19:30. The venue, a historic cultural space in Lapa, aims to keep samba accessible to a broad audience.
