Rio de Janeiro subprefecture fines 30 vehicles in Ipanema during urban order operation
The Subprefecture of the Zona Sul, together with the Municipal Guard, carried out an urban‑ordering operation on Sunday, 28 June, in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro. Under the "Rio em Ordem" program, agents fined 30 vehicles for illegal parking along Barão da Torre, Visconde de Pirajá and the area around Praça Nossa Senhora da Paz.
During the patrol, officials detained an unlicensed car‑valet who was wearing a municipal uniform and using a fraudulent ticket book, seizing all related material. The teams also dismantled an irregular camp set up in front of a local bank. Subprefect Pedro Angelito said, "Estamos direcionando as equipes para os locais que concentram as principais demandas dos moradores. Esse trabalho permanente organiza os espaços urbanos e garante o cumprimento das regras."
