Festival do Rio concludes 28th edition amid regional nutrition initiatives
The 28th edition of the Festival do Rio is concluding in Rio de Janeiro and Niterói, showcasing over 350 films. The event serves as a major platform for the Brazilian audiovisual industry, featuring the Premiere Brasil section which highlights 110 national productions. Notable highlights include the film ‘Feito Pipa’, selected for the 2027 Oscar race, and the presence of international filmmaker Asghar Farhadi. The festival also hosts the RioMarket to facilitate business and innovation within the sector.
In parallel, social and nutritional initiatives are active in the region. The Fundação Nestlé Brasil, in partnership with Instituto Baccarelli, has conducted healthy eating workshops for approximately 200 children in the Heliópolis community. This partnership includes infrastructure improvements such as cafeteria renovations and the installation of water purification stations. Additionally, the city of Rio de Janeiro is hosting the 16th Semana da Alimentação Carioca (SAC Rio 2026), focusing on agroecology and female leadership in food production through various organic fairs and educational events.
