Rio de Janeiro tourism expands with new adventure resort and award-nominated park project

New tourism and adventure developments are emerging in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Vilarejo Praia Resort in Rio das Ostras has inaugurated an adventure area featuring a sky bike, which is noted as the first of its kind installed facing the sea in the state. The facility also includes a 90-meter zipline, a six-meter themed climbing wall, an archery area, and a mini ropes course.

In Três Rios, the Áurias Park project is a candidate for three categories in the 6th Mauricio de Sousa Award, organized by the Brazilian Association of Parks and Attractions (ADIBRA). The project aims to transform a former mineral exploration site into an integrated tourism and entertainment complex. The development focuses on environmental recovery, including the restoration of native vegetation and riparian forests, and is competing in the Creativity, Innovation, and ESG categories. Winners will be announced in Orlando, United States, during the ADIBRA International Networking event.
