Rio de Janeiro venues announce diverse cultural programming

Rio de Janeiro is hosting a variety of cultural performances across different venues throughout August and September.

Teatro Riachuelo Rio has announced an intimate programming lineup featuring five major shows. The schedule includes a tribute to Clube da Esquina by Neto Bellotto and Orquestra Paganini, a Bee Gees tribute, an international performance by Spanish singer Sílvia Pérez Cruz, a 15th-anniversary tour of Cícero’s album ‘Canções de Apartamento’, and a new album launch show by Teresa Cristina.

Additionally, the musical ‘Festa no Arraial’ is scheduled at Teatro Clara Nunes in Shopping da Gávea from August 21 to September 27. The production is a loose adaptation of William Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, reimagined within the setting of a traditional Brazilian ‘festa junina’ in a Northeastern village. The cast features 14 performers, including Claudia Ohana and Lorena Tucci.
