Rio de Janeiro's cuisine boom fuels tourism and local dining

The Sheraton Grand Rio Hotel & Resort now serves a traditional Saturday feijoada at its Casarão restaurant, pairing Brazilian staples with live samba and a beachfront view of Leblon. The set menu, priced at R$155 plus drinks, includes classic sides such as couve, rice, and farofa, and offers additional dishes like moqueca and pork belly.

Rio de Janeiro's broader culinary scene is also gaining international attention. Chefs João Diamante, Alberto Landgraf (Oteque) and Rafael Costa e Silva (Lasai) are highlighting Brazilian ingredients and social impact, while hotels host upscale venues such as Marine Restô at the Fairmont Copacabana and Mee at the Copacabana Palace. Iconic establishments like Aprazível, Marius Degustare and Fogo de Chão further showcase regional diversity, positioning the city as a leading gastronomic destination for tourists.
