Rio dos Sinos River Levels Remain Stable in Taquara, Brazil

The State Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul visited Taquara on Thursday to assess the impact of recent heavy rains. Monitoring showed the Rio dos Sinos at 5.50 m at the Empresa neighborhood, a level considered stable, with officials stating there is no immediate risk of flooding and no need to evacuate residents.

On Friday, the municipal Civil Defense reported that the river level remained unchanged at 5.58 m, while the nearby Rio Paranhana continued to fall, reaching 1 m at the Taquara‑Parobé bridge, which is within normal limits. Authorities keep the rivers under 24‑hour surveillance, have deployed drones for aerial observation, and advise people in flood‑prone areas to follow official updates. A road in Parobé remains closed due to water on the Beira Rio Street.
