Rio Grande do Norte expands training for prison police

The Rio Grande do Norte Penitentiary Administration (Seap) is expanding training programs for prison police officers. The initiative focuses on improving technical knowledge and standardizing procedures for the escort of incarcerated individuals and preparation for high-risk situations.

Coordinated by the Penal Police Academy (Acadepen), the training recently included officers from the Tactical Operations Department (DOT) and the Penal Escort Group (GEP) in a course held in Brasília. This program addressed various levels of escort complexity and facilitated experience sharing between teams.

Additional training sessions will cover survival techniques and risk management, including injury response, physical condition assessment, and equipment usage. The program will initially serve the Alcaçuz State Penitentiary and the Rogério Coutinho Madruga State Penitentiary in Nísia Floresta, with plans for gradual expansion to other prison units across the state.
