Rio Grande do Norte Governor cites revenue drop for municipal transfer delays

Governor Fátima Bezerra has attributed delays in transferring constitutional funds to municipalities in Rio Grande do Norte to a decline in state revenue. The governor stated that this revenue frustration has impacted the state's financial flow, making it difficult to meet all obligations. Despite these challenges, Bezerra emphasized that the state remains committed to prioritizing public servant salaries and has already transferred R$ 137 million to municipalities this Wednesday regarding ICMS and Fundeb resources.

The situation follows pressure from the Federation of Municipalities of Rio Grande do Norte (Femurn), which estimated the state's debt to local governments at R$ 185 million and announced intentions to seek intervention from the Public Ministry and the Federal Court of Accounts.

Additionally, the governor announced that the first 10-kilometer section of the BR-304 highway duplication project is scheduled for release on September 30.
