Public Ministry branches in Paraná and Rio Grande do Norte launch new initiatives

Public Ministry branches in Paraná and Rio Grande do Norte are launching several institutional initiatives and investigations. In Paraná, the Ministério Público do Paraná (MPPR) inaugurated a new 2,141-square-meter headquarters in Francisco Beltrão to facilitate access to services and house specialized groups like GAECO. The MPPR is also conducting the ‘MP em Movimento’ project to bring the Prosecutor General’s office closer to municipal administrations and vulnerable populations.

In Rio Grande do Norte, the Ministério Público do Rio Grande do Norte (MPRN) has launched the ‘Rede Sisan Potiguar’ to strengthen food security policies and combat hunger by integrating municipalities into the National Food and Nutritional Security System. Simultaneously, the MPRN is investigating potential irregularities in a public contest for the State Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (Seap) following the arrest of candidates for suspected fraud. Additionally, the MPRN has opened a civil inquiry into the physical infrastructure of the Giselda Trigueiro Hospital’s ICU in Natal, citing issues such as sewage infiltration, mold, and exposed wiring.
