Rio Grande do Norte political candidates declare assets and platforms
In Rio Grande do Norte, political candidates have released asset declarations for the 2026 elections. Allyson Bezerra, a candidate for Governor and former mayor of Mossoró, declared total assets of R$ 748,869.84, representing a 28.7% increase compared to his 2024 declaration. His declared assets include an apartment in Natal, an agricultural tractor, and corporate quotas, though he reported a bank balance of only R$ 261.50. His running mate, Hermano Morais, declared assets totaling R$ 1,730,416.13.
Separately, Senate candidate Samanda Alves has outlined her platform, focusing on securing federal investments for infrastructure in Rio Grande do Norte. Her priorities include port infrastructure, railways, road networks, and energy transmission capacity to support local industrialization.
In Natal, the City Council approved a bill authored by Samanda Alves to establish the 'Escuta Protegida' (Protected Listening) municipal protocol. The law aims to prevent the institutional re-victimization of children and adolescents who have experienced sexual violence by standardizing how they provide accounts to social assistance, health, education, and security services.
