Rio Grande do Sul holds public hearing on agrochemical impacts in Nova Santa Rita

On July 2, 2026, the Fórum Gaúcho de Combate aos Impactos dos Agrotóxicos will host a public hearing in Nova Santa Rita, Rio Grande do Sul. The forum, comprising 85 institutions, aims to discuss the health, environmental and agricultural effects of pesticide use, gather community reports and complaints, and develop strategies to mitigate the identified risks.

In conjunction with the hearing, the Federação da Agricultura Familiar do Rio Grande do Sul (Famurs) has asked the state’s Rural Development Secretariat for an additional allocation of 50 seed bags per municipality under the Programa Milho 100% to meet farmer demand for the 2026/2027 planting season.
