Rio Grande do Sul municipalities announce 2027 school enrollment schedules

Municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul have released registration schedules for the 2027 school year.

In Bento Gonçalves, the Secretariat of Education (SMED) announced that registration for daycare (Creche) will take place from October 20 to October 31, 2026. For Pre-School and Elementary School, the period runs from November 9 to November 22, 2026. A second stage for all levels is scheduled from January 18 to October 15, 2027. Required documentation includes birth certificates, proof of residence, and identification for guardians, with income proof required specifically for daycare applicants.

In Porto Alegre, registration for the 1st grade of Elementary School is open until November 6, 2026. The process must be completed online via the State Secretariat of Education website. Parents can select up to three school alternatives. Applicants must provide the student's birth certificate, CPF, and guardian identification. An updated vaccination record is also required; failure to provide this may result in the school contacting the Tutelary Council.
