Rio Innovation Week 2026 highlights retail and agribusiness tech

The Rio Innovation Week 2026, held in Rio de Janeiro from August 4 to 7, served as a major hub for discussions on technology and innovation across various sectors, including retail and agribusiness.

APAS participated in the event to monitor trends impacting the supermarket sector. Discussions focused on the integration of physical and digital retail through artificial intelligence, automation, and data analysis to improve operational efficiency and consumer experiences. Key topics included personalized shopping journeys, new store formats, and the impact of open innovation involving startups and universities.

In the agribusiness sector, the OSNA Startup Hub (SNASH), supported by the Sociedade Nacional de Agricultura (SNA), presented a dedicated program in the Agro Tech space. The hub showcased startups such as Sustineri Piscis, a foodtech company developing cellular aquaculture technology to produce fish meat without slaughter, and MightyGreens, which focuses on controlled-environment urban agriculture.
