Riot Games expands League of Legends voice chat to entire teams

Riot Games has announced significant updates for League of Legends, headlined by the expansion of in-game voice chat. Currently limited to pre-made groups, the voice chat feature will be extended to entire teams starting with Patch 26.20. The initial rollout will target players in North America and Oceania, with potential future expansions to regions including Korea, Latin America, and Brazil.

To manage moderation and player behavior, Riot is implementing an Honor Level requirement; only players with Honor Level 3 or higher will be permitted to speak, while others will be restricted to listening. The update also introduces Voice Skins, which allow players to modify their vocal sound without compromising communication clarity during gameplay. Technical improvements such as enhanced noise suppression, increased stability, and faster connections are also included in the patch.

Additionally, League of Legends Classic will receive visual and gameplay updates, including improved map textures and lighting. New champions such as Poppy, Xin Zhao, Shyvana, Galio, and Fiora are scheduled to join the Classic mode in Patch 26.18.
