Riot Games launches free League of Legends Classic mode globally
Riot Games has made the League of Legends Classic mode available at no cost to all players who already own the main game. The mode, which recreates early‑season content such as original champions, items, runes and maps, can be accessed directly from the Riot client without a separate account or download.
The launch is scheduled for 29 July 2026, with server openings at 17:00 CEST in Western Europe and corresponding times worldwide (e.g., 8:00 PDT in the US West, 16:00 BST in the UK, 00:00 JST in Japan). At launch the mode will feature 60 original champions plus 20 additional ones chosen by the community council. While the base experience is free, optional paid cosmetics are offered, and a dedicated development team will provide ongoing updates.
