Riot Games expands League of Legends voice chat to entire teams
Riot Games has announced a major update for League of Legends, introducing team-wide voice chat to replace the current system that limits communication to premade groups. To mitigate potential toxicity and behavioral issues, access to the new voice feature will be restricted to players who have reached Honor Level 3 or higher.
Alongside the communication overhaul, the developer is introducing voice skins, which allow players to modify their vocal tonality. The update also includes technical improvements such as enhanced noise cancellation, increased stability, and faster connections.
As part of the Season 3 Act 2 rollout, Riot will also place a significant focus on music-themed content. The initial implementation of these features is scheduled to begin in North America and Oceania with Patch 26.20, with plans for a broader global rollout following performance evaluations and player feedback.
