Ripple launches AI payment toolkit for XRP and RLUSD

Ripple has launched the XRPL AI Starter Kit, a developer toolkit designed to enable artificial intelligence agents to perform autonomous payments using XRP and the RLUSD dollar-backed stablecoin.

The toolkit integrates with the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), an open standard co-authored by Stripe and Tempo. This integration allows AI agents to manage wallets across multiple blockchains and execute recurring payments for services such as data and computing power. Through the MPP “sessions” primitive, agents can authorize spending limits upfront to stream micropayments continuously without requiring a new on-chain transaction for every interaction.

Ripple is also a Premier Member of the x402 Foundation, which includes other major entities like Coinbase, Circle, and American Express. The goal of the initiative is to provide first-class payment options for developers building agentic applications within the fintech ecosystem.
