Tourists on the Hel Peninsula of Poland are facing sharply increased accommodation and daily expenses. A three‑person family reported weekly lodging costs of at least 4,000 zł, with meals and transport pushing total spending higher. Despite the price surge, the area continues to attract 600‑800 thousand visitors each summer, many staying only a day.

Facing these high costs, some visitors are opting for nearby, less expensive seaside towns. One traveler switched from Jastarnia to Niechorze, saving roughly 1,000 zł on a ten‑day stay. Prices for meals range from about 40 zł for a basic dish to over 70 zł for fish steaks, while lodging for a couple can exceed 2,000 zł per week.

The high demand persists even as red flags warn of strong waves and currents on the peninsula’s beaches, confirming the region’s continued popularity despite the financial strain on holidaymakers.
