San Lorenzo and River Plate announce key personnel changes

Argentine football clubs are undergoing significant personnel changes. Rubén Darío Insúa is returning to San Lorenzo for his third stint as head coach following the departure of Néstor Gorosito. Insúa, who arrived in Buenos Aires to finalize the agreement, is expected to make his debut on September 13 against Independiente.

Meanwhile, River Plate is bringing back club legend Reinaldo ‘Mostaza’ Merlo. Rather than a coaching or coordination role, Merlo will serve as an advisor and talent scout within the youth divisions, focusing on the detection and monitoring of young prospects under the structure led by Gabriel Rodríguez.

In other developments, former San Lorenzo manager Néstor Gorosito reportedly rejected a proposal from Aldosivi to take over their coaching duties following his exit from the Boedo club.
