Riverina shooting investigation leads to man charged and weapons seized

A 42-year-old man has been charged following an alleged shooting in Hillston, located in the Riverina region. The victim was shot in the leg in a backyard on Burns Street and subsequently walked to a hospital for treatment. The injury was reported as not life-threatening.

Following investigations by Strike Force Voral, tactical officers arrested the suspect at a property in Gunbar on September 4. During the operation, police seized four firearms, a crossbow, ammunition, various other weapons, and drugs.

The suspect faces six charges, including discharging a firearm intended to cause harm, acquiring and supplying an unregistered firearm, and failing to comply with digital access order directions. He has been refused bail and is scheduled to appear in Griffith Local Court on September 10.
