Rivers State provides flood relief to Abua/Odual

The Rivers State Government has distributed food and relief materials to the Abua/Odual Local Government Area to mitigate the impact of flooding. The intervention, led by the Rivers State Flood Prevention and Management Committee, aims to support vulnerable communities in the Ahoada East and Ahoada West regions.

Relief items provided include mattresses, pillows, blankets, and various hygiene products, alongside food supplies such as rice, beans, garri, and oil. To address potential health risks like cholera caused by contaminated water, the state has also initiated free enrollment for residents into a health insurance scheme to ensure access to medical treatment during the flood period.
