Model Rhiya Ahir files cyber complaint over online harassment in Mumbai protest

Model Rhiya Ahir became a prominent figure after she stepped in front of a Mumbai police van transporting detained student protesters at Shivaji Park, Dadar, on July 22 during a NEET paper‑leak protest. A video of her act went viral, making her a symbol of the demonstration.

Following the video's spread, Ahir lodged a complaint with the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, alleging a coordinated online hate campaign that includes deep‑fake videos, manipulated photos, abusive language, defamation and threats directed at her and her family. She has asked authorities to file FIRs and pursue legal action against the accounts responsible for the harassment.
