Following the viral exposure, Ahir reported a coordinated campaign of online harassment, including trolling, abusive messages and doctored images targeting her and her family. She lodged a complaint with the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, which opened a preliminary investigation into the alleged defamation and threats. On July 26, Ahir filed a formal cyber‑complaint, requesting FIRs and legal action against accounts responsible for deep‑fake videos, manipulated photos, abusive language and threats directed at her and her relatives. The progression highlights how the NEET leak protest intersected with heightened online abuse of individuals who become symbols of dissent in India.
