Riyadh Global Biotech Summit 2026 opens in Saudi Arabia

The fourth edition of the Riyadh Global Biotech Summit 2026 has commenced in Riyadh, held under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The three-day event, running from September 14 to 16, 2026, brings together over 100 international speakers, including CEOs, university presidents, researchers, and investors to discuss the future of medical biotechnology.

Key themes of the summit include national strategies, regulatory frameworks, R&D infrastructure, and investment in biotechnology. The event aims to support the localization of advanced medical industries, such as vaccines and biopharmaceuticals, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Biotechnology Strategy.

During the summit, the Ministry of National Guard and the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) launched a specialized sub-track for biometric data within the Data Regulatory Sandbox. This initiative is designed to test innovative products and services involving biometric data, allowing for the evaluation of governance practices and the identification of regulatory challenges to foster responsible innovation in the Kingdom.
