Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit 2026

The fourth Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit, held from September 14 to 16, 2026, under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, brought together over 100 international speakers, including CEOs, university presidents, researchers, and investors. Organized by the Ministry of National Guard, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, and the King Abdullah International Medical Research Center, in partnership with the Ministry of Investment, the event focused on genomics, vaccine development, and innovative drug manufacturing.

In alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Biotechnology Strategy, the summit aimed to localize advanced medical industries and establish the Kingdom as a global biotechnology hub by 2040.

During the proceedings, the Ministry of National Guard and the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) launched a specialized sub-track for biometric data within the Data Regulatory Sandbox. This initiative was designed to test innovative products and services involving biometric data, allowing for the evaluation of governance practices and the identification of regulatory challenges to foster responsible innovation in the Kingdom.
